Get Some Rest!

Your alarm goes off in the morning. Instead of getting up right away, you keep hitting “snooze” until having just twenty minutes remaining before you have to leave for work. Going to bed late the night before leaves you feeling worn out as you crawl out of bed. You make yourself presentable and grab a few snacks before heading out the door while on an empty stomach. You think you’re calm, yet having to race to work while praying the traffic lights play nice frustrates you.

A year in review: in 1000 words or less.

Well, this has certainly been a year to remember! A year filled with positive changes, lots of fun and quality time spent with my family and friends, personal growth, and experiencing God’s faithfulness, just to name a few. I’ll try to come up with a few adjectives and bullet points as I provide a (hopefully) brief recap of some of the bigger highlights from this past year, regardless of whether or not you’ve been playing along.

In hindsight: that really wasn’t all that healthy.

At the end of April I left my previous job of four years. The money was amazing, I liked a lot of my coworkers, and management was very supportive and generous. But the job was so stressful. I was angry, irritated, fed up, burned out, and miserable. I dreaded going into work everyday. I would stress eat on many days. Sometimes multiple times a day. It really wasn’t all that healthy. It caused me to gain a lot of weight. The money may have been good, but the environment was toxic.
