My (Recent) Most Excellent Vacation

Let’s stop managing our sin

You can either call this a devotional or a collection of thoughts from personal experience, reading books, scripture, and listening to sermons at church. It’s late, so cut me some slack if this doesn’t flow perfectly! Either way, let’s talk about sin. It’s ugly, we were born with a sin nature, but if we’ve accepted Christ and follow after Him, then we know that he’s defeated it. Our sin was imputed on to Him and His righteousness was imputed on to us, forever solidifying our standing with God. It’s wonderful, scandalous grace!

Less Weight, Less Stuff

Some amazing things have been taking place as of late! I’ve lost 48 pounds since last May!! The goal is 50, but the last two pounds are being difficult, but I’ll get there! Don’t get me wrong, I’m so excited and joyfully amazed over the results. I’ve also begun doing some weight training to tone my body. I feel amazing and am in the best physical shape I’ve been in for a very long time, but I’m not stopping now or anytime soon!!

Thank goodness winter is OVER! It’s a well established fact that I despise winter! It’s cold, there’s snow, plans get cancelled, it gets dark early, all my productivity comes to a screeching halt, and I want nothing more than to run away to a warmer and brighter climate for all eternity…well, until winter’s over, that is.

How cutting the cord still gets me channels I want. Legally.

Cable’s expensive. While they typically offer an introductory rate, it’s usually for one year and has to be bundled with another service. As for me, there’s tons of channels I don’t want, and I’m always looking to save money. Get Some Rest!

Your alarm goes off in the morning. Instead of getting up right away, you keep hitting “snooze” until having just twenty minutes remaining before you have to leave for work. Going to bed late the night before leaves you feeling worn out as you crawl out of bed. You make yourself presentable and grab a few snacks before heading out the door while on an empty stomach. You think you’re calm, yet having to race to work while praying the traffic lights play nice frustrates you.

A year in review: in 1000 words or less.

Well, this has certainly been a year to remember! A year filled with positive changes, lots of fun and quality time spent with my family and friends, personal growth, and experiencing God’s faithfulness, just to name a few. Whoa-oah, we’re halfway there!

As you know from my previous post, I’m on a fitness journey. I started on 5/24 at 234.50 and I reached my first goal of 215 on 9/1. Well, this morning I reached another goal! This one’s a biggie. No, a milestone. I finally broke the 200 threshold!!! I am now at 198.40!!

Fitness: can’t stop, won’t stop.

I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything, but a friend encouraged me to share some exciting news. Since May 24th, I have lost over 25 pounds!! I started at 234.5, am 208.8 as I write this, but I am NOT done yet! I have NOT arrived and I am FAR from finished, actually. I’m very excited at the progress I’ve made so far. How have I been able to do this? I’m glad you asked! But let’s start from the very beginning, a very good place to start.
